Kalinga Gases Pvt. Limited, today an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, was incorporated in 1995 with a vision to be a market leader in the field of industrial gas, specifically, Liquefied Carbon Dioxide gas. To this end, the Managing Director, Ms. Piyali De, and other directors of the company set up a unit in Bhubaneswar for manufacture of liquefied CO2 gas. It was the first of its kind in Odisha, and played an important role in providing quality gas at reasonable prices for the growing industrial market. The company did business all over Odisha and some limited supply to Kolkata.

In 2005, in an effort to increase business in the Rourkela belt, a trading depot was opened at Rourkela. Dry Ice, the solid form of carbon dioxide, which manifests completely different properties from the gas, was added to our product list in 2007, at Bhubaneswar, and in 2008 a refilling unit was installed near Calcutta for regular and efficient supply of both liquid CO2 and dry ice to the local customers.

In 2009, in a bid to diversify the product range, the company forayed into the field of manufacturing PET Preforms. Committed to the Company’s Mission and Vision this product was chosen to provide good quality preforms at competitive prices for the packaging needs of Eastern India. In 2011 another plant was added to enhance the product range, enabling us to cater to all segment requirements of the packaged drinking water manufacturers of the state. In 2013, activities of Kolkata unit was expanded with sale of preforms. In 2018, Bottle manufacturing was started as forward integration. In 2021, refilling of Industrial and Medical Oxygen was initiated at Kolkata.
